So, the 28th of August (Sunday) was my Birthday. The wife wanted to go to a flea market about an hour away which I didn't really want to go but just to make her happy I decided to take her. We left the house a little after 7:00 a.m. and got down the road about a half mile and BAM!!! A damn turkey ran out and smashed the windshield on the Jeep!
When I first seen the turkey, I figured I was going to end up just running over it which I didn't want to do either being it was pretty big. But just as it got to the middle of the road the turkey decided to take off but didn't make it. It only got as high as the windshield and of course smashed it.
Then of course today I had to call the insurance company, then went out to talk to them to be sure I got the right windshield. Mine has the Jeep grill in the center at the top, and a Jeep climbing a hill at the bottom passenger's side (an Easter Egg). Also, the top of the window is tinted which they don't come tinted unless you do away with the Jeep grill and the Jeep in the corner.
I knew the tint was put on later, so I had to find someone who tint's windows. I would do it myself, but I want it done right. The whole idea is to have it put back the way it looked before the turkey smashed into it.
Of course, it's hard to see in the pictures below, but the whole window is cracked.
