Printing Pictures

Let's face it, printing pictures can be expensive and time consuming. There is also the fact some printers print better then others. I guess it might come down to how much money you want to spend on a printer, but buying a better printer doesn't always guarantee good picture prints. Then of course printing pictures gets expensive buying ink all the time. I just checked at staples and for high yield black, and the other three colors, it cost $78.99! Just the other week I bought my first refurbished cartridge's (same as Staples)  for around $26.00! That's a big savings and so far they seem to work fine.

The printer I have is an Epson Workforce Pro WF-3733. The printer does a pretty good job and it's more printer then I need as to say it does more then I need. The only reason I bout it was because at the time it had a good price on it. As for printing, it prints pretty fast and pictures isn't to bad even though it's not considered a "photo" printer, but again, the ink cost is high.

Of course you can always go to somewhere like Walmart to print your pictures. A 4x6 will cost you like $0.09 per picture, go to a 5x7 and the price jumps to $0.58 a picture. I never printed pictures at a store though I must admit.

There is a better way to print pictures rathen then using your printer and that by using a Sublimation printer. So, if ink for my regular printer cost $78.99 four all four colors, with the sublimation printer I can print 750 4x6 pictures for $124.00!

Below is the sublimation printer I use.

I had this Sublimation printer now for over a year and still haven't went through a roll of paper. If I go with 5x7 prints I can get 400 prints with a single roll and and with 6x8 I can get 375 pictures per roll.

As for sublimation printer's printers there are a lot of them out on the market and it depends on how much you want to spend on one, if you want one. Of course I don't print a lot of pictures, but when I do print pictures I don't want to have to print a picture a number of times to get a good print.

I did notice one thing about this printer, well it's not the printer but the software you use. Any software you use should be able to send it to this printer, but the one software I used when I first got the printer, it would print the picture fine but after it printed the picture it would spit out a plank "sheet" after the print. That means every blank it would spit out after the printed picture is a picture print you would lose.

I then changed software (just for printing) and the it quit spitting out the "blank" sheet after printing the picture.
