The New Chainsaw

Well, I looked and looked for a replacement part for my Worx 10" chainsaw but no luck. I did see a guy on Ebay had used parts but wanted $40.00 for all the parts he had. I offered $10.00 for only the one part I needed, then later offered him $20.00 for everything. Didn't work out. It's like way would I pay $40.00 for a few used parts when I could buy the same saw new for less the $100? Anyways, I'll keep looking.

The new saw I ended up getting was the Oregon CS1500 which is an 18" chainsaw with a 15 amp motor.

This saw got some good reviews as well as some bad reviews. When it comes to reviews, I don't pay a whole lot of attention to a lot of them, why? Well, go to YouTube and type in for review of just about any type of power tool and watch how the people use therm. Sorry, but most of the people I see don't know how to correctly use them. The one I though was kind of funny was a guy cutting down a tree then cutting it up used the chainsaw like he was using a knife! He would start his cut then move the chainsaw back and forth just like you would cut something with a knife.

Then you get people giving things a low rating because... I didn't know it was electric... etc., etc., really dumb shit. Sorry, but most people are idiots and shouldn't even be allowed to own power tools. Anyways... I didn't get to use the new chainsaw yet, probably not until about the end of the week because of rain. I do have the chainsaw already to go, put oil in it, primed it, and adjusted the chain.

The chainsaw does take a "weird" chain because of the self-sharpening, but if I decide I don't like it, you can always remove the sharpening stone and go to a regular chain.

Besides the chainsaw, I also ordered a Scotts pole saw. I used my Worx WG309 which is also a pole saw, but... I have to admit, holding a 10-11 pound saw at the end of a long pole isn't no easy task! The Scotts pole saw weighs about 3-4 pounds lighter. Although the Scotts pole saw is lighter, it still has a 10" bar and an 8 amp. motor, same bar length and amperage as the Worx chainsaw.

Another thing about the "new" chainsaw, I seen a number of people saying that the motor burned up! I take it these are the idiots that I've been talking about. It tell's you right in the directions to use a 20 amp maximum breaker when plugging the chainsaw in and to use a min. wire size of 14 AWG up to 50 feet and a min. of 12 AWG wire size up to 100 feet. I wouldn't be afraid to bet half of these people used a cheap 50 or 100 foot card which couldn't carry the load and the saw got hot from the voltage drop and burned up.

Anyways... I'll let you know how things work out when I get a chance to use them.
