Gunsmoke is a good western TV series, but for one problem, at least in the early years. That problem is Dennis Weaver, on the right. Why they ever put him on the show, I don't know. Anything I ever seen him in, be it McCloud, Twilight Zone, or the movie Duel... he sucked! In my opinion, he always acts to stupid, probably more in Gunsmoke than anything else. In Gunsmoke all he did was take away from the show.

WOW! Did a lot of running around this past weekend. Saturday got up, did a few things around the house then went to get fireworks for the 4th of July, which we will celebrate on the 6th off July.
That was little over an hour's trip one way, so it came out to about 2.5 to 3 our trip all together. Then of course this past Saturday was so stinking hot outside didn't help matters.
Then on Sunday pretty much did the same thing when I got up, then went to a family get-to-gather which was another 2.5 to 3 hours round trip again. But I guess it was worth it being we had brisket to eat! Needless to say, it was really good.
I'm planning to try making a smoked brisket before summer is over. Just hate to think of messing it up being they are so expensive, but everyone says they are pretty easy to do. The worst part is the time smoking which can be up to 10 hours or more depending on the size of the brisket.
Anyways.... guess I'll find out when I try doing mine.

The last two day's it's been at 94, Fri. & Sat it's to be 96! The other day out at the pool, in the sun, the thermometer hit 120! So being out in the sun you end up more in the water then not. Haven't done much of anything lately being it's too hot to do manual labor out in the sun.
The most I've been doing this week was hanging out at the pool, cooking on the Blackstone, or smoking in the smoker. Besides that I guess I've been keeping the hummingbird feeders full and watering the grass I planted and going out in the mornings and rolling down the windows on the truck and the Jeep.
Oh, that is another thing I did get done, washed the Jeep one evening late in the day even though it was still sunny out. The only reason I washed it was because Alge was starting to grow on the rubber seals around the doors and at the bottom of the plastic hardtop.
The next morning, I got up early and washed the truck. Both ended up being a "quick" wash which was nothing more then wetting a section of the truck/jeep down, going over it with a hot soapy sponge, then rinsing it off with the power washer, so it wasn't like a good cleaning. Even though it wasn't a good washing, you could still see a big difference.
Well, it's getting hot here so it's about time to head to the pool!! :-)
Had to make my own mark on the new shed, so I added a few signs. I was going to put them on the side of the shed but figured I'd put them in the front and leave the side for something really big, just don't know what as of yet.
Here's a better view of the signs:
The Jeep grill I got for 70% off, that was because one of the headlight lenses was missing. What you see in the grill are small, clear plastic plates that fit perfect which I got at the Dollar Store for $1.25 for six of them. I left them clear but had thought about spray painting them silver, but for now, I'll just let them clear.
Here's a few deer from a few different cameras last night and early this morning. I see the one deer is greedy and chases away a raccoon and another deer. The raccoon tried to be brave and go after the deer, but it didn't work.
Still haven't found a "Big Gear" for the Worx WG390 chainsaw/pole saw. I'm sure someone has one of these saws laying around with a burnt-out motor or some other problem. What's really disgusting is you can find this saw still on Amazon and even Worx still advertise it for sale, but they discontinued making the "Big Gear" part. What the hell? Why is anyone selling a saw you can't get parts for anymore?
I did find one place that sold a "Big Gear" that fit two other saw's and I read it would fit the WG390 and it wasn't to bad of a price for about $8.50. For that price I was going to buy one and take a chance on it. But... when I checked the shipping cost, I'd have about $20.00+ into it, I'm not willing to spend that much if it doesn't work. I'd bite the bullet for $8.50, but not for $20.00.
Maybe someday I'll find a whole saw somewhere really cheap like at a yard sale or flea market.
Or at least one is. Didn't see a deer around for the longest time being they used to show up pretty regularly. Thought they might have left for good, then about a week ago this and another deer has been showing up in the day or night.
You never know what it is you might see around here. There has been a groundhog living under the big, shed outback for a long time Kind of thought it was odd that one day I mowed the grass, then the next day I went out there and the groundhog was laying at the side of the shed dead?
The following day in the evening I remembered something in the evening the day before I found the groundhog, I heard a gunshot which I thought sounded pretty close, so I don't know if someone shot it or not. Hearing a gunshot around here during any part of the day or night is nothing new.
Well, I didn't have to, but I wanted a ramp. Of course nothing is easy. Making the ramp was pretty easy though. It's getting the ground pretty level with the ramp is the tricky part. The dirt you see in front of the ramp is just the start, want to make the ground kind of level with the ramp in front of it then slowly tamper off on the sides.
When I put the woodchipper in the shed I used the two ramps I use to put the lawn tractor in the big shed out back. Those two ramps are 2x12x6 feet and are a pain in the butt dragging them around for use in different locations. Although they are 6-feet in length, they are a little long for the shed above because of the bank you see on the left.
Eventually I want to make a ramp like in the picture out at the big shed. It gets a little hairy at times backing down two single ramps and even more so backing down the ramps with the zero-turn mower. One wrong move with the controls and the front end will come down off the ramps.
The ramp in the picture above is 4-feet wide x 5 feet long. It's made out of four 2x4's spaced 16-inches on center with deck boards on top. 6-foot would have been better but not having a lot of space in front I made them 5-foot. The idea was try and not making it any steeper than I have to if I have to push the woodchipper in the shed, which I did with the 6-ramps.
Maybe I'll post another pic when I get the ground in front of the ramp done.
